For the first time in BRAX's illustrious history, not only is a digital amplifier being introduced, but also an exclusive limited series that exemplifies the brand’s dedication to excellence: the Founders Edition. This special edition clearly stands out with its exclusive design: The heatsink impresses with its unique "Midnight Blue" color, created through an elaborate anodizing process, making the Founders Edition a truly distinctive and unparalleled piece. Additionally, the mirror-polished stainless steel nameplate with golden laser engraving, along with the hand-signed bottom plate, further accentuates its exclusivity. To top it off, each unit is accompanied by a certificate hand-signed by both Heinz and Julian Fischer. Limited to just 888 devices worldwide, the Founders Edition is not just a piece of high-end audio equipment but a collector’s item that celebrates a new era of BRAX innovation.

The new benchmark in sound quality - with PURIFI's EIGENTAKT technology

The BRAX RX2 PRO combines compactness and efficiency in an impressive way, with technical and sonic attributes that elevate amplifier quality standards to a whole new level. In close collaboration with the Danish manufacturer PURIFI, a unique and uncompromising concept was realized based on their patented EIGENTAKT technology — a concept that dispels all previous prejudices against digital amplification.

All performance metrics, including Total Harmonic Distortion (THD+N), intermodulation, and signal-to-noise ratio, are so extraordinary that only the most expensive measurement systems can accurately capture them. The foundation of this exceptional performance is the Multi-Stage Feedback principle, in which several extremely broadband and therefore ultra-fast feedback loops in the amplifier stages compensate for all non-linearities. This even extends to the output relays, which have their own control loop to equalize their minimal contact resistance. Crucially, the LC output filter required for Class D amplifiers is incorporated into these feedback loops, completely compensating for its significant impact on distortion and output impedance. The RX2 PRO thus shines with phenomenal values for a damping factor of 10,000—not just at the typical test frequency of 1 kHz, but across the entire audio band. Additionally, the frequency response dependency on the load, typical of Class D amplifiers, is eliminated with this circuit topology. No matter which speaker the RX2 PRO drives, its amplitude response remains perfectly linear up to 60 kHz across all impedances.

Advanced Power Supply Design

Another key to the unmatched sound quality of the RX2 PRO is the extensive effort put into its power supply design. The power supply is regulated, providing a constant output voltage to the power stages that is independent of the battery voltage. This ensures full start-stop capability and allows operation in electric vehicle onboard networks, where voltages up to 18 volts can occur. Additionally, the power supply is equipped with a total of 67 electrolytic capacitors with massive total capacity, ready to deliver enormous impulse currents when needed. To ensure that the PCB does not hinder current flow, eight layers of copper minimize internal resistance. But that's not all: The high number of layers also brings other advantages, ensuring that high currents have no impact on sensitive input or feedback signals, thanks to the sophisticated layout.

Flexible Input Options with First-Class Signal Processing

The analog input module introduces the new "Super-Balanced" principle, where two extremely low-noise and low-distortion BurrBrown OPA1612 operational amplifiers form a differential input stage per channel. This not only handles amplification but also ensures an extremely high common-mode rejection ratio, providing excellent immunity to automotive-related interference on the input signals.

The digital input module, equipped with both optical and coaxial SPDIF digital inputs, shines with a state-of-the-art Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) from ESS. This DAC achieves performance metrics previously unattained in the car audio segment, with a signal-to-noise ratio of 130 dB and a distortion figure of -117 dB (equivalent to 0.00014%). These outstanding values are made possible by the meticulous design of the power supply for the DAC. A dual voltage regulator, developed specifically by ESS, supplies each channel separately with extremely low-noise and highly stable operating voltage. As part of a logical, holistic concept in line with BRAX standards, the digital input module also supports the proprietary DiSAC 2.0 protocol of the BRAX DSP for unparalleled volume control at the end of the signal chain.

Compact Design and Revolutionary Efficiency

In addition to its unbeatable technical highlights, the RX2 PRO presents itself in an exceptionally elegant and compact form. Despite its enormous output power of 2 x 300 watts at 4 ohms or 2 x 510 watts at 2 ohms (or 1 x 930 watts at 4 ohms), it has the same size as a BRAX DSP and is nearly 40% more compact than a GX2000, or even 66% smaller than an MX4 PRO. In terms of efficiency, power consumption and reduced heat generation, the RX2 PRO opens a completely new chapter for BRAX, aligning with the general trend towards higher packing density and increased efficiency.

The Award-Winning, Digital Revolution in Amplifier Design

No matter how you perceive the RX2 PRO, it is nothing short of a revolution. After over three years of intensive research and development, it sets an unparalleled benchmark in amplifier design, a fact that was immediately recognized at its market launch with the EISA Award for the best  “In-Car Amplifier" 2024-2025:

“What was previously unthinkable is now reality: With the BRAX REVELATION RX2 PRO, Audiotec Fischer is introducing the first ‘digital’ power amplifier under the Brax brand name. In order to use Class-D technology to match or even surpass Brax’s analogue high-end amplifiers, the BRAX REVELATION RX2 PRO is the first automotive-grade version of Purifi’s innovative ‘Eigentakt’ technology, which sets new standards in terms of performance and sound. The BRAX REVELATION RX2 PRO uses the best available components; it can be equipped with either an analogue input module with TI / BurrBrown operational amplifiers or a digital module with ESS converters, ensuring the very best signal quality in every case. The result is, on one hand, the immense power of 2 x 300 watts at 4 ohms or 2 x 510 watts at 2 ohms, and, on the other and much more importantly, the absence of any distortion and noise. If you are looking for a modern, compact Class-D power amplifier with real high-end quality, you will find what you are looking for in the BRAX REVELATION RX2 PRO.”

Special features:

DiSAC (Digital Signal Analog Controlled) volume control in combination with the BRAX DSP
In a car audio system there are typically two possibilities to control the playback volume.
a) The volume will be adjusted in the signal source (e.g. the car radio / head unit):
This is the predominant method, but it has a disadvantage as soon as there is an additional digital signal processor in the audio path. The full resolution of the DSP can only be exploited when the volume of the source is set to full-scale output. Otherwise audio bits get “lost” so that at very low volume levels the sound lacks of precision. But this loss can also happen if no DSP is in the signal path between head unit and amplifier as most of the radios today incorporate a digital volume control which also has a negative effect on the signal resolution at low volume levels.
b) The volume will be adjusted in the digital signal processor (DSP):
In this case the signal source delivers a full-scale signal so that a DSP in the signal path can operate under best possible conditions without truncating any bits, e.g. during AD conversion process. A remote control connected to the DSP will then be responsible for adjusting the volume inside the signal processor in the digital domain, but this also has a slight impact on sound quality.

The perfect solution:
The MX4 PRO in combination with the BRAX DSP follows a different, yet the most consequent and extensive approach in order to avoid any degradation of sound quality. Audiotec Fischers exclusive and proprietary “DiSAC” technology operates perfectly if either the audio source does not incorporate any volume adjustment or the source always delivers a high signal level. In that case the audio processing inside the BRAX DSP is done without reducing the audio resolution at any time. For adjusting the playback volume either the cable remote URC.3 or the display remote DIRECTOR can be chosen.
The speciality lies in the fact that the volume information from the remote will be encoded inside the BRAX DSP and embedded into the digital audio data stream of the SPDIF outputs and thus transferred to the MX4 PRO.
The MX4 PRO itself is able to extract and decode the volume information from the digital data stream, using this to adjust the lossless analog volume controllers (PGA’s) after the DA converters. This simply means that the volume control takes place in the signal path where it does not have any negative impact on sound quality, actually just before the output stages that drive the loudspeakers.
This type of volume control is truly an uniqueness in the car audio segment and proofs once again that Audiotec Fischer didn’t spare any effort to redefine the pinnacle of sound quality once again.
